CASE SYNOPSIS:

In August 2012, The Canadian country leader of Red Hat Inc., (Red Hat), an open source software company, had been reviewing the progress made by the Canadian subsidiary of the American multinational in bridging the gender gap. The subsidiary has met its target of increasing the ratio of women in its sales team from 5 percent in August 2014 to 40 percent in July 2017. Going forward, the country leader is examining ways to leverage the takeaways from the four-year experience in reducing the gender gap in an attempt not only to sustain the momentum but also to go beyond gender parity.
