Cathie v. Global

Cathie, a female pilot, applied for a job with Global Airlines, an international carrier with 2,500 employees. Cathie had completed all exams, training and flight hours necessary for a commercial pilot's license. Global, however, denied her job application on the basis that she did not meet Global's requirement that all pilot candidates previously served as pilots in the military. Assume the following: (1) that most pilots meet their required flight hours and training while serving in the military and (2) that men serve in the military in greater numbers than do women.
