CBC MARKETPLACE VIDEO- THE DIRT ON HOTELS Watch the attached links below for video on findings of how clean hotel rooms are. Answer each of the following questions in a written report. Responses can be in point form (at least 10 points for each response) or as short answers (at least 2 paragraphs).

 

1. In this videos, the investigators visit several different hotels, various hotel chains from limited service to full service hotels. Do you believe that guests have the right to demand this level of cleanliness based on what they pay for a hotel room? Explain why or why not.

2. There is a "How to Clean a Room" video in weekly lesson plan, which showed in extreme detail all that the Housekeeper has to clean in a guestroom. Some people feel it is a bit extreme to do all these steps for each room (rememberthey do 15 - 17 rooms per day, each day). Based on the CBC Market place videos, obviously there are people out there who are looking for a very cleanroom. So many more people suffer from allergies and environmental sensitivities. Do we need a better training system for our Housekeeperson a higher skilled workforce?
