CEO activismis a conduct whereby you find CEOs engaging themselves in social, political issues and environmental issues by taking position in them even if these matters do not impact directly their businesses, but from which CEOs can benefit from it (powers, 2015). A good example of real-world situations is Lloyd Blankfein, Chairman and CEO of Goldman Sachs speaking out publicly about LGBTQ rights. In Feb 2012, he has become the first national corporate spokesperson for the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), an advocacy group that promotes equal rights for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people. "I'm Lloyd Blankfein, Chairman and CEO of Goldman Sachs. And I support marriage equality," says Blankfein in an HRC video posted on YouTube . There's a kind of logic to Blankfein's advocacy.Blankfein may have agreed to make the ad in preparation for a role in political life. Therefore, it's not really so surprising that the CEO of Goldman, which had already endorsed the eternally stalledEmployment Non-Discrimination Act, has gone to bat for the gays. Supporting gay marriage, for the CEO of Goldman, is not only so wholly unthreatening to his bottom line that he risks nothing by endorsing it. Moreover, it shifts the focus of political discourse away from tougher, more fundamental questions of economics and power. However, In May 2012, Blankfein stated that his stance led Goldman Sachs to lose some high net worth clients.

Analyse your example of CEO activism by using ILAC method and provide an opinion (conclusion) on whether this conduct meets or breaches the Australian statutory law on directors' fiduciary duty to act in the best interests of their company.
