Certification shows professionals' skills in a field. It's awarded after meeting requirements like education and exams. A study on Certified Medical$-$Surgical Registered Nurses $($CMSRNs$)$ explored certification's value. They surveyed $100$ CMSRNs online about their activities and perceptions. Results showed attending conferences and workshops $(60\%),$ joining professional organizations $(50\%),$ and obtaining certifications $(40\%)$ were common methods of continuing competence. This study gives important info on how certification helps CMSRNs stay competent. It can guide continuing competence programs for nurses and healthcare pros, offering benefits like professional growth, competence demonstration, and better job prospects and satisfaction.
