In a study in the Journal of Science entitled "Google Effects on Memory: Cognitive Consequences of Having Information at Our Fingertips", researcher Betsy Sparrow suggests that, when people don't know something, they tend to think about where to find itonlinebefore they try to remember it. In other words, they try to locate the information externally, rather than internally. Sparrow indicates people have always used external memory sources, such as other people their work and/or home lives. However, it is now easier to look up the informationonlinerather than call or ask another person or even search their own memories for the answer.

Would you agree with Sparrow that, when we don't know something, instead of trying to search our memories for the answer, we look for the answersonline? Why or why not?
