Charter schools are supposed to provide a better educational experience for students by having parents or experts directly involved in managing the school and its curriculum. However, this approach often assumes the parents are actively involved in the educational process of their children.

• How do you feel about having such schools operating on public funding? Are charter schools a net improvement in education overall? Or are they creating a more tiered educational system with greater advantages for the more affluent?
• The question of school choice is a natural extension of the local control argument in public education. Would we be better served by more centralized education policy, at the state or federal levels? Why or why not?
