Assessment objectives
The student will demonstrate the knowledge of required Facilitate workplace debriefing and support processes.
Deliverable specifications
The student must deliver answers to all seven questions. The answers should be correct, sufficient and in acceptable form of quality and standard.

Mohammad works in a high-stress environment working in child protection. His case load is high, the work is stressful and he is regularly abused - not only for his role in removing children from their parents, but also because he is a Muslim.
He is worried about missing something during his case work because of his high work load.
His work stresses have impacted on his family life - the violence he sees every day in the workplace makes it more and more difficult for him to have a loving relationship with his wife and children.
He is frightened that the terrorist attacks happening around the world will intensify and that his race and religion will become less and less respected in Australia.
Muhammad is living with constant levels of high stress - both at home and at work.

Beverly is a workaholic. She is the manager of a very busy team that provides addiction intervention services in the community for people with drug, alcohol and gambling addictions.
Beverly starts work at 7am and leaves the office between 6pm and 7pm. Her husband usually cooks dinner; after eating she works on her laptop while her husband watches TV.
Beverly frequently falls asleep on the couch while she is working. Sometimes her husband leaves her there.
Beverly would like to have a holiday - in fact, she has just cancelled the leave she had put in for next week. Unfortunately she has a funding application that has to be submitted and a tricky ministerial to write. She doesn't seem to be able to get these things done quickly like she used to.
Lately she has been feeling mentally and physically exhausted. She squeezed in a 30-minute trip to the doctor today to find out why she has been feeling so poorly.
The doctor said Beverly was suffering from burnout!

Anna feels very sad and low. She seems to have lost so much, so quickly.

Phillip has come to work with Anna. He is young and enthusiastic, but is lacking in experience.
During a group therapy session with a number of young drug users, he managed to annoy one of the clients. He said something that the client took the wrong way.
The client started yelling abuse at Phillip, and then stood over him with his fist clenched.
Phillip was terrified. Fortunately Anna was able to calm down the client and defuse the situation - but Phillip was left shaky and distressed.
