Chef James has salt in his pantry but needs to buy all of the other ingredients. All of the ingredients in his recipe are measured by VOLUME. Chicken and flour are sold by WEIGHT, and butter is sold by the stick. Use the following information to help prepare a shopping list (since they wont sell you of a stick of butter or pound of flour, round your answers to the next whole number):

1 stick of butter = cup

1 pound of raw chicken yields 1 cups of cooked, diced chicken.

1 pound of flour yields 4 cups

4 quarts = 1 gallon

2 pints = 1 quart

1 ounce = 2 tablespoons

Calculate for Shopping List:

____sticks butter

____pounds flour

____gallons chicken broth

____ pounds chicken

____quarts heavy cream

____ ounces sherry

All conversion factors in the Metric System are based on multiples of 10. Think about the English System. Is there a standard conversion method? Does this pose any problems? If so, please explain what they are.
