Chemical Castration: Chemical castration of sex offenders is gaining popularity. Both surgical and chemical castration has been used in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Switzerland. Several states have followed suit. California & Georgia have passed laws making chemical castration a condition of parole for sex offenses. Chemical castration is accomplished by the injection of the chemical medroxyprogesterone acetate. Not all sexual predators are male. Women make up 1-2 percent of sex offenders.
