On an industrial scale, cyclohexane is produced by reacting benzene with hydrogen. Due to ils unique chemical and conformational properties, cyclohexane is mainly used as a standard during analysis in laboratories. In one chemical process, a stream of cyclohexane vapor at 150C and 25atm enters a continuous condenser at a flow rate of 100L/s. The product exits the condenser unit at 6.7C and 1atm in the form of liquid and crystal mixture. The cyclohexane vapor enters the condenser from the top while the product mixture exits at the bottom before entering a separation unit.
