Chime Bank has a commercial on TV that always gets my attention. It starts off with a man who is trying to pay for his coffee but ends up over-draftingand basically ends up paying $30 for his $3 cup of coffee because of the fees associated with most banks. He is then approached by a woman who banks with Chime who explains that it is all online and that there are never any fees associated with their bank. This catches my attention for two reasons. I always think about whether or not an all onlinebank would be a good thing, and what issues may come up because of it. The second reason is that I have experienced banks charging outrageous fees for no real reason, and it always makes me consider leaving the bank, but most banks are the same in terms of their fees. This ad uses the slice of life execution-style as it is a "regular guy" dealing with a common issue. This ad works for me because it is relatable andeasy to identify with. Even if people watching it have never overdraftedthemselves, they can still identify with the situation.
