China and Canada have expressed interest in initiating a FTA as it was deemed to be mutually beneficial.

Canada and China have a flourishing services trade industry, with China opening up its financial service sector for trade, Canada would benefit from this.

There has been a positive shift in the attitude of the Canadian government and citizens towards engaging in free trade with China.

The CCFTA will open up transfer of cutting edge technologies between the countries thus strengthening future growth.

The dependency of Canada on slow growing economies such as the US can be overcome by engaging in trade with a fast growing economy like China and since RMB can be used for most transactions, Canada can save costs incurred for foreign exchanges to obtain currency.

Due to these advantages and since the negativities such a deal may bring are minimal to none, we propose that negotiating CCFTA will be be contribute positively towards the welfare of Canada
