China's Five-Year Plans (FYPs) have been the cornerstone of the country's socio-economic development since 1953. Although largely oriented towards domestic development, the FYPs also send strong signals to foreign governments and businesses on China's economic behaviour and developmental trajectory. Indeed, the FYPs have both domestic and international implications.

(a) Analyse five (5) core aspects of China's current FYP and critically appraise how this plan helps to influence China's standing in the global economy.
