You could install solar panels, burn wood for heat, or even drop a turbine into a nearby creek or put one on the roof. Do a bit of research on an alternative energy source and tell me what you might be able to power in your home and what you would have to do in order to do that. It could be something as simple as running some lights, or as big as powering an ac unit. Provide a link if you use an online source, and give some facts to base your answers on...ie don't just say "I'll get some pv cells and hook up a light", or "I'll get some wood and burn it in my fireplace" Give me some more detail than that :-) Yes, this question is fairly open ended, but mainly I just want you to see what it takes to try to get electricity into your home without plugging into the power company
