Choose an area of work operations that you are familiar with in your current workplace or an industry that you are familiar with. Don't go too broad and choose the whole operations, but choose one area of operations that you can concentrate on, such as the delivery of goods, production of goods, marketing, design or sales.

1. Develop an operational plan for that area of business. Students are to include the following information in the operational plan of their chosen area of business.

2. Include at least one contingency plan within the operational plan. Student is to analyse any major problems that may occur in their operational plan and create contingency plan for each.

3. Develop a presentation to have that plan approved by appropriate management. Student is to develop a presentation including all relevant information, presented in an appropriate manner to have their operational plan approved by management.

4. Explain how you will measure and monitor the performance of the operations when following the plan. Student is to develop the appropriate KPls and methods for monitoring operations to measure the performance of their operational plan.

5. Explain how you will communicate, consult and include team members in the development, implementation and review of the operational plan. Students are to draw on their own knowledge to describe how they would communicate with, consult and include team members in the development, implementation and review of the operational plan.

6. Give an example of a possible area of underperformance and what you could do to combat that underperformance. Student is to use their own understanding to identify possible area of underperformance and describe how they may improve those areas of underperformance.
