As mentioned earlier, the company experiments with Cisco products and all hubs and routers on its network should be Cisco devices. The only exception is Router 3 (see Figure 1) which will be a Windows Server 2008 router. Your instructor will provide you with documentation for the following Cisco products: 1500 and 1528 series microhubs, Fasthub 100, 200 and 300 series hubs. 1600, 2500, 3600, 4500-M, 4700-M and 7200 series routers. Using the documentation and the above amendment, select specific hubs and routers for the network (e.g. FastHub 216T; 2504 Router, etc.) based on the following assumptions: Each hub and router shown in Figure 1 is a single unit (not a stack of multiple units) All devices on segments A, B, G, H, I and J require fast Ethernet (100BaseT) connections, all devices on segment L are 10BaseT, while all other segments have a mixture of 10BaseT and 100BaseT devices on them. Router 4 must support an ISDN connection to the Internet as shown in Fig. 1. The Cisco model chosen for this router must have an ISDN interface already built-in, not merely supported as an add-on card. The lowest series model should be used that meets the requirements (e.g. a 2500 series router should be selected rather than a 3600 series router if both meet the requirements; the 2501 model should be used rather than the 2502 model if both meet the requirements). Document your selections in the following table. Hub 1 Hub 2 Hub 3 Hub 4 Hub 5 Hub 6 Copyright 2007 CDI College of Business, Technology and Health Care. For example, if the uplink port on FastHub 116T is used, port 16 must be left unused. Making connections to both ports disables them both.
