CITA 430 Final Project Due Date: 4PM on TUESDAY, 5 May 2020 For the final project, each group will present to the case for deploying and executing a "HOT SITE" for disaster recovery purposes. Each team's final presentation will demonstrate how they will go about bringing their individual site back online from a simulated disaster. This will include "standing up their team site/hot-site after the primary location was destroyed by an uncontrolled fire. Included in this presentation will be a cost analysis of equipment needed to equip and maintain each "hot site" AS PART OF A "PROOF OF CONCEPT", the server rack in WARNER 107 will serve as the temporary hot site. All technology and configurations should be configured and backed up before movement to our "hot site facility" Deliverables for the final project: Final group presentation with findings to include PowerPoint and any other materials needed demonstrate the finished product "Disaster Recovery Package" to include all materials needed to recover from any disaster scenario. (This means all documentation needed including installation materials to bring any/all site specific locations up and active from BARE METAL) Backed up states for all information Technology equipment to include server, network, domain and user specific information. Deployment of hot site equipment as a "demonstration of disaster recovery procedures and plan. Demonstrate the ability of each team to recover from a simulated disaster within a timely manner. The "HOTSITE" facility will contain the following: Bare metal rack space Dedicated 100GIB back bone internet, direct access inside the racking system supplied by the hot site. Climate controlled facilities including protecting from EMP and other natural disasters that hold significant probability on the east coast of the United States. Indefinite UPS back up power supply with pure sine wave inversion Contracts in place for 365 continuous days after a northeast regional disaster, 90 days for national disasters Multiple layered, tiered and controlled user access o Hardened facility o Video Monitoring o Smart Card Access with biometric verification o 24/7/365 roaming and stationary guards Each Team will have between 30 and 40 Minutes to present their findings. As part of the final project each team will develop a "Disaster Recovery hot sites with a "Disaster recovery package" detailing all documentation needed to bring each site back up and running as if their location was completely destroyed". This Disaster Recovery Package will be presented to the class at the time of each team's presentation on Monday, 6 May 2020 at 4pm. Each team will be graded on the completeness of their "Disaster Recovery Package as well as, the thoughtfulness of the presentation. Each HOT SITE will be deployed in a test environment deployed in our "Rack environment" HotSite HQ (HQ-Cobleskill) (cita430.com) HotSite A (ALBANY) (hotsitea.cita430.com) or (albany.cita430.com) Each team will cover the following topics in their presentation; these items will also be included in their Disaster Recovery Package as well: Disaster Recovery Policy/Framework Physical and Logical Topologies o Rack Diagramming should be included Active Directory Structure o Server 2016 . Domain and forest functional levels Microsoft Server 2012R2 can be used in a mixed environment as long as the above domain/ forest levels can be met Server 2016 MUST BE USED FOR DOMAIN CONTROLLERS O DNS Structure Domain and sub domain structures clearly laid out with proper DNS server deployments. o DHCP . Including IP Address Pools and Assignment . VLAN to IP Network Addressing Static IP address table/assignments o Global/Universal Group Policy Objects o Local, Site Specific Group Policy Objects o Security Groups including Global and Site Specific(local) - Designated Users as follows: . (ORG CHART with users placed inside the corresponding groups) - 40 users in the Cobleskill Location . 70 for the Albany Location 6 information Technology users specifically assigned to each Hot Site HotSiteHQ (Cobleskill) HotSiteA (Albany) Switch / Router configurations including VLAN assignments o Switch port, Punch Down and Rack layout O VLAN to Port Assignments Layer (3) three routing/deployment and configuration files.
