CJ is a new employee at X company who meets Ivey, a trainer, during his first week of training. Cue cards with real-life examples of situations that CJ might encounter as a customer service representative were used as part of the training. Some of the cue cards contained profanity, which Ivey would occasionally read aloud in front of the entire class.

CJ informs Ivey that her use of profanity violates his religion because he is a devout Christian. When Ivey continues to read from the cue cards, CJ from HR complains to CC that Ivey is infringing on his religious beliefs. CJ also claims that he believes Ivey is racist and that many of his classmates agree with him.

CJ does not get along with MH, a female call center employee. CJ sends an e-mail to CC from HR claiming that MH is harassing him because she asked him out on a date and would stare at him nonstop at work. CJ claims he is uncomfortable working near MH.

CJ, who is curious about MH's past, decides to do some internet research on her one day at work. CJ learns from her investigation that MH was charged with (but not convicted of) a serious felony almost a year before she was hired by Company X.

1. Is this a violation of CJ's religious beliefs? Please use EEOC facts. 2. Is MH harassing CJ by asking him out on a date and staring at him? 3. Was CJ's email regarding MH's criminal record appropriate? Did he break any EEOC rules?
