Claire Lemon, CFP, often directs her clients needing legal assistance to her brother, Harold, a lawyer. Recently, Harold's business has declined substantially as a result of a worsening drinking problem. Two weeks ago, Claire arranged an appointment with Harold for Nick Simmons who needed to have his first will prepared. The appointment was scheduled for the first thing yesterday morning and although Nick showed up on time, Harold was too hung over to meet with him. On the way home, Nick was killed in an automobile accident and died intestate.
