Class BD site. It has resources for looking for articles and resources that could be helpful for this assignment. OPTION 1: Grover (2007) discussed the Canadian case of R. vs. Borsch, where Roger Borsch, a former soldier, "sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl in 2004 after breaking into her home while she was sleeping and holding her at knifepoint" (p.5). According to Grover (2007) Roger Borsch claimed that "he witnessed atrocities, such as a Serbian solider raping an either-year-old girl" when he was a soldier serving six months in Bosnia from May to November 1994(pp.5-6). Grover goes on to further state that Borsch was the "first case in Canada in which a diagnosed history of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and dissociative symptoms was successfully used as the basis for an insanity defense: (p.5). For this journal, you need to choose a side to defend regarding whether PTSD is a valid insanity defense or not. You must argue your chosen side and find reasons (i.e. facts, use of your textbook, internet, etc.) to support why your selected side of the argument is the "Best" answer in viewing PTSD as a valid insanity plea or not.
