Clement in fact has his own iPhone..an iPhone 3G.
It came out in 2008 and Chu Hua's father bought it for Clement for his 82nd birthday.
Chu Hua says that the cost of an iPhone 13 Pro is about $1700.

She says it will be easier if Clement transfers the money to her account and she will buy it to save him the trouble of going to the nearest large shopping complexas he no longer drives.

Clement knows he has Chu Hua's bank details written down as he did the same thing for her last Birthday. He finds the paper and enters the details in and makes the payment that day to her account.
That night at a dinner to celebrate Chu Hua's graduation, Clement says to her that he has placed the money into her account.
Chu Hua checks and says to her grandfather that it didn't come through.
Clement has brought his own Ipad to the dinner to show his family some photographs of his late wife who was Chu Hua's grandmother.
Chu Hua logs into Clement's account on his Ipad and can see that Clement has made a payment of $1700 but the account number entered is not her account. Chu Hua can see that Clement entered Chu Hua's name but the account number is wrong.
