Client is 32 years old and identifies as heterosexual, cis-female. She has been married to her male partner for 7 years and has a 6 month-old child. She and her husband immigrated to the United States two years before their child was born. She experienced fertility issues and went through several rounds of fertility treatments before she became pregnant. She currently presents with low libido. While there has never physical force, client reports that her husband is growing more impatient and complains incessantly about their lack of sexual activity. Sex was rarely mentioned in her family during her childhood and if any sexual topic was raised, it was with an underscore of shame. This sense of shame remains current and results in experience of sadness and feelings of hopelessness.
