What is a paralegal allowed to communicate to a client?Consider this scenario:You are a paralegal at a law firm. The attorney you work has been tied up for two weeks on a murder trial in court. The client calls in a panic strickenstate demanding to speak to his attorney. You try to calm the client down. He says, "I have been trying to reach my attorney every day, multiple times a day, for almost two weeks and have not received a response from him." He demands to know what is going on with his case and how much time he is looking at doing in prison if he is found guilty. He also wants to know how much money he owes in legal fees. Based on your knowledge and the amount of work you have done on this case, you know the client is most likely going to to prison, if found guilty. How would you answer the client's questions? How would you explain the lack of communication from the attorney? How would you address the legal fees? How would you address his concern about doing time in prison?
