Coaching girls' volleyball is a passion and a commitment to a craft. Coaching female athletes in the sport of volleyball requires a coaching philosophy specific to the sport and the gender of the athlete. A coaching philosophy is "a tool to help guide coaches in their coaching process. Having a philosophy gives a coach clear guidance on the objectives that will be pursued and how to achieve them." (What Is a Coaching Philosophy?). Organization and multitasking come along with most jobs, but being a coach is a layer of leadership skills encompassing many abilities. This paper's primary focus will be to look at the process for an entire year of sport for a girl's high school volleyball team. The year will focus on an annual plan with pre-season, in- season, and post-season variables. Within each section, aspects may fit within that area. These may include personnel, team relations, practice and game management, communication, and evaluation. To build a solid team foundation, a coaching philosophy that will help guide and mold what it means to be a coach is imperative.
