Coffee is life blood! Wait, what?! In our society coffee is a staple, we talk about the use of this stimulant drug so colloquially as if consuming coffee is second nature. Young members of our society (i.e., children) learn very earl on how important coffee is to 'getting one's day started'. What are your thoughts on caffeine being a widely and arguably encouraged use of a stimulant? Are our attitudes towards coffee inadvertently setting up children to buy into the idea that we need coffee to function properly? Does this lackadaisical attitude set the stage for other stimulant use to become normalized? You could also consider the popular internet trend of memes normalizing moms as winos (i.e., someone who consumes an immense amount of wine).
