College seemed so far out of my reach for some time until I decided to go back to school to pursue my career. Mental illness has played a major part in my life for quite some time and want to learn more about what I was dealing with made me consider psychology in the first place. It is amazing how learning psychology has given me so many insights into how the atmosphere, people, and ethnicity can play a role in our lifespan. Having a career as a psychologist will allow me to help others who are struggling with their own mental illness and will allow me to help them to cope and get through the hard times that they are facing.

In my journey to achieve a successful career as a psychologist, I have identified three primary motivations that drive my ambition, the desire to help people, a fascination with the complexities of human behavior, and a passion for learning. My further interest in psychology happened when I took my first psychology course in college and was amazed by the complexity of the human mind and how we form our thoughts, behaviors, and beliefs. I was particularly drawn to the theories of behavioral psychology and how we can modify our behavior through various interventions, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy. The knowledge that I have gained in my undergraduate studies just scratched the surface of the broad field of psychology, which is why I decided to continue my education and earn a master's degree in psychology. The primary reason I wish to pursue a graduate degree in psychology is to help people who are suffering from mental health issues. I have seen personally how mental health issues can affect a person's life, and I feel a strong desire to help those in need.

In addition, I have also seen how a proper diagnosis and treatment can seriously improve a person's lifespan, and I want to be a part of that process. I believe that I am an ideal fit for the graduate psychology program at the University of Arizona Global Campus due to my past experiences, my passion for the field, and my dedication to helping others. Due to my undergraduate studies in psychology, I have extensive knowledge of the various psychological theories and treatment options. I am also passionate about learning and am eager to further my knowledge in the field of psychology.

I am certain that I am equipped with the level of motivation and dedication essential to be successful in my graduate studies. It is important to me to further my education, and I am thrilled to investigate the many subfields of psychology in greater detail so that I will be a successful participant in the program as well as a useful contributor. Throughout the course of my education, I have made it a point to focus on expanding my awareness of the myriad of biases and preconceptions that can influence how we perceive the world.
