Come up with and explain your own ethical thought experiment.
First, describe an original, fictional scenario that is designed to make some sort of point about one or more of the ethical theories we're studying this Unit (utilitarianism, Kantian ethics, and virtue ethics). Your thought experiment could be evidence for one of these ethical theories, or a criticism of a theory, or point out an important difference between two theories. Make sure your thought experiment is original! Don't just explain a thought experiment that already exists.
Next, explain the point that your thought experiment is designed to make. Are you using your thought experiment as intuitive evidence in support of a theory? As a criticism of a theory? To highlight a difference between two theories? Think of your thought experiment as one premise in a larger argument. Explain the rest of your argument you're using this thought experiment to make.
