Three variables that might be of interest to psychologists would be age, attitudes toward social media, and political party affiliation.

Age would be of interest to psychologists because they might be interested to see if there are differences in how younger people versus older people process information or think about social issues. Age could be measured by simply asking people how old they are. This would be a ratio level of measurement.

Attitudes toward social media might be of interest because psychologists might want to understand how personality shapes attitudes toward social media (for instance do extraverted people like social media more than less extraverted people?) Attitudes toward social media could be measured by giving people a survey question with a 1-10 scale that asks people to say how much they like social media where 1 means they hate it and 10 means they love it. Technically this would be an ordinal level of measurement, but for most situations in psychological research it could be thought of as an interval level of measurement.

Political party affiliation might be of interest to psychologists as they might be interested to see if this variable relates to other variables like how one parents or how one was raised by their own parents. Political party affiliation could be measured by asking people what political party they most identify with and then giving them options to chose from such as Democrat, Republican, Independent, Libertarian, and other (with a space to fill in another party). This would be a nominal level of measurement.
