comment on peers board:
1.) The first company I chose to look at was Walmart:
Walmart does a very nice job of listing each and every job on their careers home page. They also organize it by location and allocate parts of the site to explain the culture, applications, and job impacts of the organization. They also include links to careers at Sam's Club. I see no current need for improvements to Walmart's job opportunities webpage.
The second company I looked at was General Electric:
GE does a great job of breaking down their jobs into each facet of their business like aerospace, power, digital, etc. They also have an option to join an email list to be notified about job openings that fit your desired position. Something I would improve about GE's website is having a more direct link to actually applying for a job rather than having it hidden behind numerous different pages.
The third company I chose to analyze was Pepsi:
Pepsi has a vibrant front page that showcases its jobs, benefits, and diversity statistics. They also tie their career page in with their corporate mission to their employees which includes diversity initiatives and human resource policies. Pepsi has a link at the front and center of its careers page to apply for a job, I think this is the most well-done of the three. Something Pepsi could do better is having separate pages for each job with more detailed descriptions and details as well as the links to apply (which are already included).
2.)The first company I chose was Wells Fargo. I thought it was really easy to find their career link on the home page. The link had many options to see what kind of career you can have at Wells Fargo. I thought the entire page was easy to work and I did not really find anything that needs improvement.
The next company I chose was Apple. They had a lot more options on the home screen than Wells Fargo, but it was still easy to find. There was a lot of information on a lot of potential jobs and it is very organized. The only thing I think they could do is to just have a reading option. Most of the information is all in videos which might not be the best option all the time.
The last company I chose was Dupont. This company was the easiest to find the careers. Unlike the others, the career tab was one of the links on google and it was on the top of the home page. There is a pop-up message box that asks if you are looking for a job. There are many options to start searching for what you are looking for. The only thing that they could improve on is maybe a little less information. They have a lot of information that is all on the first page when looking for careers.
