Comment on this "At this point technology has transformed almost every organization. I spent many years working as a bar manger and bartender. I now work for a liquor distribution company. Both of these industries have been dramatically impacted by technology. In the bar industry technology has transformed how orders are rung in and payments are processed. It has also transformed scheduling. Most bars now use digital scheduling apps allowing employees to trade shifts and request time off from an app on their phone. Online messaging platforms such as facebook messenger are also used as a means of relaying pertinent information to all staff. Face to face meeting are ow necessary much less often. In the distribution industry technology has affected every aspect of our company. Like bars, time off request are handled through an app. It is more in our day to day work that we rely on technology though. At some point orders had to be submitted by sales reps via telephone to the warehouse. Now thanks to technology orders are submitted from accounts via an ordering app. This app also tracks order histories, warehouse inventory, deals etc. Our warehouse uses technology to pick bottles and pack boxes mechanically. All delivery trucks are tracked and their location is visible to sales rep and managers via another app. There is a specific app used for teams to share files and information. Goals and incentives reports are automatically updated and emailed out daily. Meetings are held via an app where everyone can participate without the inconvenience of driving to our office in Denver. In addition to all of the technologies already in use by the company, I use an app to route the most effective route of travel and store notes on all my accounts. With so much account data being held by these apps I believe it is imperative that there be appropriate security measures to ensure the privacy of customers, employees, and the company
