When a person is in need of health insurance either from starting a new job or its that time to establish new insurance. A person needs to "shop around" for health insurance. There are all kinds of insurance companies and coverages that are available. It is important that a person needs to be able to understand what they are looking at. Being able to read and understand what they are choosing is important because, you dont want to pick something that will not cover the things you want covered. Shopping for healthcare can be tricky, not only with the verbiage and what is actually covered, but due to the lack of transparency in the cost of care. Due to the lack of transparency in prices it is difficult to determine in what to pick for coverage.(Whitney, 2018) Waiting till the end of the shopping to see the cost can be frustrating because you may have to return and pick different choice of coverage if it cost to much. Having better transparency will help people choose what they need. Being able to choose the perfect coverage, knowing what it will cover, understanding what it will cover, and how much out of pocket will cost. Having the verbiage in a language that is easily read so everyone can understand what is being provided will cover.
