Hello class,

Sally did not commit the assault the reason behind this situation is basically due to the fact Michael and his bumps into sally which causes her to bump into the waiter. In order for the assault to come into place certain factors would definitely have to come into play for an assault to come into play. If an assault happened then basically the act would definitely have to come in come purpose this causes having the fear of of physical harm. The mental element that she has is not there for her to have an actual guilty state of mind to what had happened(Gardner, T. J., & Anderson, T. M. (2017) . The situation that she's in I would say would have to be the forbidden act simply due to the fact that she did slap slapped the waiter even though it wasn't intentional .

When Mary had the iPad still in her hand she definitely stole the iPad for one thing. The intent was definitely not there because of the fact that we don't know whether she had a discussion with her friend with the intent on stealing the iPad. In this case the mental element is not there there due to the fact that we don't know her true intent is we cannot say she intended to steal the iPad on purpose. The Men's rea basically means that she would've had to have a malicious intent on stealing the iPad and it doesn't show her intent. If the friend knew about the stolen iPad then she falls into the category of forbidden act

Beth definitely did steal but in terms of robbery no simply due to the fact that the individual was at sleep when the situation had happened. Specifically Beth took the money while that person was asleep. She committed the act of Men's rea. Men's rea refers to the guilty mind Gardner, T. J., & Anderson, T. M. (2017). to an evil purpose so she she definitely falls into that category. She definitely did steal someone property . she committed larceny.
