B. Problem Questions. Questions [2 x 20 marks = 40 marks] Answer both TWO questions. 1. Bert gets a new job; he has been unemployed for a long time. The job is to estimate the cost of repairing cars which have been in accidents. Bert is instructed to add 10% on top of the actual estimation, and this will be secretly shared between the repairer and the valuing company. Bert will earn considerable money if he follows orders, or lose his job if he does not comply. The only party affected will be the insurance company, the owners of cars are not affected, and the insurance company is making substantial profits. What is the ethical situation in this case? Is Bert under any obligation to disclose what is going on? What should he do? Will he lose his job? What if he does nothing? Explain with reference to law and ethics
