Compact Cars Project - Part 1 - Proposal The six-month sales data for six of the most popular car models in 2020 are given below. We do not have sales data for the entire 2020, hence the data is a sample of the 2020-year population data. The broader objective of this project is to use sample data to gain information about the entire population. For 2020, our goals are to determine whether the population mean number cars sold is substantially different for the six models and whether the population mean number of cars sold is significantly different between the months. Currently we do not have the tools to answer these questions, but we will develop them in chapter 13. The phase 1 should be between 2-3 pages long and must include a brief description of the car models and detailed explorations of the data. Data analysis using descriptive statistics such as graphs and numerical summary measures is required. The report must contain the following sections. 1. Introduction and brief descriptions of the car models. Clearly articulate the business questions to be answered. 2. The analysis must include thorough comparisons and contrasts of the mean, median, mode, range, and standard deviation across the six car models. Comparisons of the boxplots of the models must be expounded. Clearly explain the Box and its purpose. 3. The analysis must include detailed comparisons and contrasts of the mean, median, mode, range, and standard deviation across the six months. Comparisons of the boxplots of the months must be expounded. Clearly explain the Box and its purpose. 4. Based on the analysis can we reasonably conclude that the population mean number of car types sold is substantially different for the six models? Can we reasonable conclude that the population mean number of car types sold is substantially different for the six months? Submission: Your initial report must be turned in class in Word document. No email or late submission will be accepted. If a student disregards this and uses email to submit, a zero is assigned for the report.
