Compaids Inc. manufacture two types of slide-out keyboard trays for use with personal computers. Model C15 is designed for desktop use. Model UN8 is designed to be mounted underneath a desk with screws. Both units are manufactured from laminated particle board supplied by SSS Industries and use two slide assemblies purchased from Corrigation, Inc. The following table summarizes the wholesale selling price and requirements for each keyboard tray. Each week, SSS can sell Compaids up to 15,000 square feet of laminated particle at $0.40 per square foot, and Compaids can purchase up to 4500 slide assemblies from Corrigation at $0.75 each. Serews are in abundant supply and do not restrict production. Up to five Compaids workers, provide 200 hours of production a week, can be assigned to the production of the keyboard trays; however, their labor costs are considered sunk costs. a.
