Company Assigned Costco. Will need to know how to obtain prior year and current year information for assignment.
For the presentation portion of the final project, you will be assigned specific ratios from your project that you will briefly discuss with the class about your company.
Presentation Guidelines
All student presentations must include the following items:
1) You must show all of your calculations.
2) You must be able to discuss the results of each of your metrics and discuss how it affects your
company.
3) For each student you will discuss the following items for your ratio or metric:
a. First tell us how the ratio is calculated, then define the ratio, what does it mean
and what does it tell you.
b. Discuss the results for the current year and for the previous year (PY).
c. Discuss if the results have increased, decreased or stayed the same from PY.
d. Discuss the impact of the change, i.e. better or worse than PY.
e. Discuss why the change may have occurred based on information you have.
4) I suggest that you use PowerPoint for your presentation for smooth transitions.
5) You MUST present and submit your presentation in order to receive a grade.
Student Assigned portions are as follows:
C. Student 3- Activity Ratios (#8) and Profitability Ratios (#9- #11)- You must discuss
the items addressed in the Presentation Guidelines above for each ratio assigned. Also, answer
the following questions.
1. Discuss what property plant and equipment ratio means.
2. Discuss what the gross profit margin ratio means.
3. Discuss what gross profit percentage ratio means.
4. Discuss what the return on sales ratio means.
