Compare and contrast the status, limitations, and opportunities of women in Egypt with the experiences of women's in other early civilizations that we explored in our last week of discussion. In your discussion be sure to provide specific and documented examples to support your arguments. After posting your initial response, compare and contrast your points of focus in your response to other students who arrived and different conclusions. Remember, your assigned text and course materials are a starting point from which you should explore the weekly topics, expand upon them, and add to the framework provided by them. They are not to be summarized or considered the only topics available for discussion resulting in what happened last week whereby the majority of posts were similar. Rather, your posts should reflect the fact you have researched beyond the assigned materials as chat is the purpose of engaging in such research and applying critical thinking to the weekly questions.

Be sure as well to incorporate primary sources. A useful compilation of primary resources that you might find useful can be found at:https://sourcebooks.fordham.edu/ancient/asbook.asp . Be sure to select primary sources, not secondary sources from the site, and be sure to properly cite and reference all use of information as required. Remember, it is critical (and required) that you use sources that reflect the course requirements. Sources like the Internet Sourcebook provide great access to primary sources and those are appropriate for use. The articles, are, however, not as they are not scholarly something that is true of other sources like encyclopedias and internet based sources. Note that it appears that site might not being maintained and some links are broken. That said, it remains a good repository for your use to access primary sources. Be sure to therefore apply the criteria in full when selecting sources to ensure you are using sources appropriate for use per the course requirements
