Business Rules:
An urgent care clinic that tracks patient information in electronic format has the following business rules.
The doctors name, office number and phone extension are stored.
A patients name, area code, phone number, email and balance they owe are tracked.
A patient can have appointments with one or more doctors
The appointment date and time are tracked for each and every appointment that a patient makes.
A doctor can have appointments with zero or more patients. However, each appointment is made with only one doctor and one patient.
If the patient shows for an appointment, it results in a visit with the specified doctor.
A doctor can have zero or more visits.
A patient can have zero or more visits.
For each visit the date and time are recorded.
For each visit there can be multiple patient problems, multiple patient diagnoses and multiple charges. There is at least one of each of these recorded for each visit.
A bill is created after a patient visit. There is at most one bill for each visit. Some visits result in no bill. There are instances that bills are created that dont relate to patient visits.
For each bill the following are recorded: the bill date, amount charged, amount paid, date paid and the balance of the bill.
Emergency cases do not require an appointment but do result in a visit and a bill.
Each bill must be paid. However, a bill may be paid in many installments, but a payment may cover only one bill.
A patient may make payments on the bill, or an insurance company may make payments on the bill. The date, amount and type (check, credit card, etc.) of each payment must be recorded.
A particular insurance company may be associated with zero or more patients.
