Complete a learning story of the child Aarav come to the Centre with smile on his face . He didn't know how to speak English , but his mum told us that he can understand some . He is not demanding child , but he has to learn about room routine and rules . Also , Aarav is learning very fast . He is watching other children and imitate them , he is watching educators and follow their instructions . We usually communicate showing to him what to do with proper words for it. For a short period of time , he catch a lot, but still he doesn't understand some rules. He likes to repeat some words, the way how he learns. Very rarely, he say something if he knows the word meaning , but mostly he is smiling He is very social , likes to play with other children . Recently , he has started to use more words which means he is progressing Based on your observation of the child , list one long term goal and one short term goal for the child Long term goal : Speaking clearly English Making sentences Understand and be understudied by others If it's necessary, consult speaking therapist Praise child for communicate in English Short term goal : Use repetitive language every day , routine phrases Use visual or photos for communication Encourage child to repeat the words Use gestures to describe what is happening Learning through play : set up environment to play with children in small groups , dramatic play , music /singing songs , teach him simple words such as numbers , letters , patterns , symbols , etc ., reed him a books or describe photos in it, play cards , etc. From your observations document how you would support this child in their environment for example : equipment , materials , people Provide materials or toys to play with him in small groups of children , he can repeat words imitating other children or educator, singing songs together, reading a books. A lots of talking with child also, but slowly and repetitive
