Concealment Van-Dorn, an insurance agent for Canadian Life, inspected Kalintors building before issuing a fire insurance policy. Kalintor did not show Van-Dorn the basement, which was filled with flammable chemicals. After the policy was issued, Kalintors building burned to the ground. Canadian Life later learned of the secret lab and was permitted to cancel Kalintors policy.
