Conditions:

Imagine that you just started working for a financial organization that provides several financial calculators as web services that are available to third-party developers. Kelsey has been maintaining the simple interest calculator web service for several years, but she is retiring at the end of the week and you have been assigned to take over the project. You have some understanding of web services from a class you took in college, and you were given the project files, though the software is not correctly configured on your machine to be able to run it locally. You have set up time with Kelsey to get an overview and demo of the application before she leaves.

It is a common occurrence within your department that developers are solely responsible for different web services, and your supervisor has started an initiative to change that by documenting them so that they can expand coverage. As part of that initiative, they have asked you to start your involvement with the project by creating technical documentation for the program. Your documentation should be broad enough that a developer, analyst, and tester could all understand the purpose of the web service and be able to test it (assuming their software is correctly configured). However, it should also be detailed enough that another developer could take over responsibility for the web service in the future, should you be unavailable.
