R. v. Bilodeau by 38804 Fri Sep 2 21:54 On March 27, 2020, Jacob Sansom and Maurice Cardinal were out hunting near Glendon, Alberta, when they killed a moose, which they then went to a friend's house and skinned and chopped into a number of parts, which were then bagged and sent to a number of families for sustenance. They departed their friend's house and started traveling down Range Road 484. They made a quick halt at the Roger Bilodeau residence's driveway entry somewhere around 9:30 PM. Mr. Bilodeau observed them and assumed they were there for a sinister reason, such as scouting the area for a potential future break-in and robbery. Mr. Bilodeau left his home and got into his pickup. Mr. Bilodeau asked his son, Anthony Bilodeau, to join the pursuit and to bring a gun. Around 9:45 PM, Anthony Bilodeau arrived at the intersection. Anthony fired a shot at Mr. Sansom's chest as he was moving toward him. Anthony then started firing three times towards Maurice Cardinal. Throughout, Roger Bilodeau was present and took note of what was happening. They both left the scene and the body was discovered hours later. The court's decision: The court's decision was to sentence to 10 years in prison on two counts of manslaughter in the deaths of Jacob Sansom and Maurice Cardinal. He will be given 1624 days' worth of credit for his time in prison. According to Section 109 of the Criminal Code, Roger Bilodeau is not allowed to own a handgun, and Section 487.051 requires him to give a sample of bodily fluid that is reasonably necessary for forensic DNA analysis. Reasoned Opinion: Even though the 16 year old son, Anthony Bilodeau shot both Andrew and Maurice, he did it in self defense. It was Roger Bilodeau who carried speeds of 150km/h for 7km, trying to catch Andrew and Maurice. It should be highlighted that Mr. Bilodeay has demonstrated a genuine desire to improve himself while working at the ERC. He has completed a number of programmes, including Alcoholics Anonymous and the Boot Camp Program. Although Roger Bilodeau is an excellent candidate for rehabilitation, deterrence and denunciation are more important goals to pursue instead. The wrongdoing committed by Roger Bilodeau and the damage that was caused must be strongly condemned. The question rendered within is did Roger Bilodeau have a basis on pursuing the two men after they stopped at Mr. Bilodeau's house for a brief moment?
