Consider the AWGN, discrete time, baseband channel model [9 92 93 YT] = [1 2 3 XT] + [W W W3 WT] where the x; (i = 1,..., T) are chosen with equal probability from a BPSK constellation with power constraint E[2] = P . where w~ N(0, No) With respect to the above setting, address the following problems. 1) For T = 1, perform Monte-Carlo simulations (transmission, corruption with noise, and ML decod- ing) and plot the probability of bit error on logarithmic scale, as a function of SNR (in dB). 2) For a fixed SNR of your (meaningful) choice, perform Monte-Carlo simulations and plot the probability of codeword error on logarithmic scale, as a function of T, for T = 2, 4, 5, 7. 3) Now Consider a fading channel, i.e. y = hr+w, where h~ N(0, 1). For T = 1, perform Monte- Carlo simulations and plot the probability of bit error, as a function of SNR. Compare this plot with plot of AWGN channel. 4) Compare all the above results (plots) with the corresponding theoretical results on error performance. For question (1), (3) and (4) Consider SNR range from 0 dB to 20 dB with step size of 2 dB.
