Consider the following proposal: Instead of acting independently or collaboratively through a variety of CSR initiatives, US corporations who want to combat climate change should announce that their only climate-related CSR contribution will be to work with other US corporations to push for a large policy change that alters relative prices enough to fully reflect the social cost of carbon emissions (such as a carbon tax). The concerted plan will be to agree on a common corporation-backed policy goal that addresses climate change, and to lobby publicly for it until some policy combination that meets the goal is enacted
