Considering your review of chapters 3 through 8 your text, Careers in Criminal Justice, and the current climate around criminal justice reform, what jobs do you think will be the leading edge of corrections in the future? Consider that there is a tremendous focus on reentry issues, probation, and parole. Consider that the current commissioner of the Philadelphia Prison System comes from a social work background rather than a corrections officer/security background. Consider also that the current DA in Philadelphia has proposed radical changes to the criminal justice system in the city. If the move is to reduce the number of people in the prisons and to work towards helping them to renter society how could you better position your self for these changes? (You will need to research Criminal Justice issues in Philadelphia including the proposals and policies of DA, Larry Krasner. You should also consider the major discussion around criminal justice reform started in the spring of 2020.)
