This essay takes us to examine the rise of the second generation. It takes a closer look to the Mexican-American movement specifically through educational ideas and goals. This movement wanted to provide a set of education tools and goals as a way to move the second generation forward. As a result, our essay is asking what were those educational goals. Perhaps you can address how those goals are the same or different now. The second part of the essay is asking to center your attention into intergenerational conflict or rather differences between immigrant parents and their U.S. born children.
