Cooling water flows across the outside of a staggered tube bank to carry out heat transfer by convection. The water flow velocity is 0.24 m/s and the bulk temperature of the water is 10oC. Each pipe has a diameter of 1 in and a length of 10 ft. In the longitudinal direction (in the direction of flow), the distance between the center of the pipe (SL) is 2 inches with a total of 6 rows. In the transverse direction (perpendicular to the flow direction), the distance between the center of the pipe (ST) is 2 inches with 60 pipes. So the total number of pipes is 6 x 60 = 360. Inside the pipe, water vapor is condensed so that the temperature outside the pipe is maintained at 99oC. If the latent heat of water vapor hfg is 2209 kJoule/kg, calculate the rate of condensation of water vapor in kg/hour.
