Could help me respond to the below statement:
To be honest, when I first read the Capstone student guide I felt both excited and also completely overwhelmed.I instantly knew I would use the organization or place that I currently work for, Bourgade Catholic High School. This opportunity will allow me to either look at implementing something for staff, faculty, or students so depending on my focus I do have a couple of different audiences that I can serve so while it is a school it isn't incredibly limiting for me. That was one reason why I chose to work with this organization for his project, but also because I have been a part of this community since I was in high school and so it means a great deal to me and they have been so supportive throughout this whole master's program process that I would like to give back in a very meaningful way.A couple of things that came to mind would be looking at implementing some sort of program for students that begins to encourage them and motivate them into finding out what their vocation in life might be. And that's a very nebulous idea but ultimately finding out what encourages them and motivates them to grow. Pinpointing that idea and seeing where we can go from it is kind of what first came to my mind. This is important because we have uncovered some data in the last year that shows that our graduation rate for college of graduates from our school is very weak and very low and being able to pinpoint what motivates our students, or how to motivate them while they're in school could help them continue that motivation once they leave our campus and the last help them in the long-term. I have thought of a couple of surveys that I could do to gather information from students, and I would focus on the two groups that I lead which would be our drama club and our ambassadors. Ambassadors of being a wide range of Juniors, sophomores, and seniors that are all higher ranking students that are motivated to be leaders and to give back. Whereas the drama club is a less selected group of students that range from freshmen to seniors that represents a more Broad aspect of our students but doesn't touch on the athletic side. So I know a part of the information gathered might be skewed because athletes wouldn't be represented so figuring out how to incorporate that would be important. Right now I'm looking at something that is student-focused but considering implementing something for our staff instead of just the faculty because the teachers are always given opportunities to work together is something else that came to my mind.
