Could someone answer my classmate this is his answer to the discussion question

The topics that might interest me are looking at data that provides information on a person's behavior. I love learning about a person and what causes a change in their behavior. I naturally enjoy analyzing people just for fun. It has been something that I just do. When it comes to my children or my spouse I know what response I may get in some situations based on past behaviors. It is a collection of data that I have gathered through the years.

I would say that this is an example of using the process of probability because you have learned their common responses based on previous behaviors. McBride (2019, p. 143) describes that collecting data is similar to a coin toss because you are observing the individual and looking to see what the outcome of that particular behavior is going to be. In the process, we are looking to compare two different outcomes which is similar to the coin toss because you can only have one of two results.

Today at work, our administration announced a change in policy. It was obvious that when changes occur it can only go one of two ways. You have a group of people that agree and a group of people that disagree. I was shocked to see how many individuals were not happy with the changes. During our meeting, we had negative and positive responses. I was curious if this was the outcome they were expecting.

Within your topic, how do you find a population to study?

If I wanted to find a group to study, I may select a particular age group, or in my example with work, I may choose employees within the organization to conduct research on whether they agreed or disagreed with the change. It would be interesting to find out how many of them within the organization, in my particular role approved or disapproved of the changes. A collection of data does not mean things would change only because someone does not accept the change, but it would help the administration to learn more about why people disagree, and conducting surveys and conducting research would help in providing that data.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of using Internet samples or subjects?

The advantages and disadvantages of using internet samples are that not all persons may be reached. There are other factors to consider in this process, and that is if we are eliminating the opportunity for all persons and/or subjects to participate. We must take into account, "geographical areas, racial and/or ethnic groups, gender, and/or income brackets" and try to determine how to reduce these types of biases in our sample (McBride, 2019, p. 147).

When selecting the persons that will be part of the research, it is important to be able to randomize effectively so that the persons selected are at random, and not a particular group selected so that we can prove or disprove our theory. This would be an ineffective practice because in conducting research we are trying to determine a valid result.
